ONLINE SOURCES

This page provides access to two resources that could be of use to residents and residency graduates.

The first is an online textbook, always in progress, whose subject is elements of technique and intra-operative decision making.  The ambition is to provide a framework of technique distilled to its simplest components, with rationale behind the choices made, and wherever possible, support from the literature to validate the recommendations.

The textbook can be found at Outlines of Technique in Cardiac Surgery

Also available is a series of essays- in even rougher progress- on the subject of the spiritual and psychological challenges that face the modern cardiothoracic surgeon.  These can be found here.
